Rugby e combine, un rapporto inesistente. Quasi.
Il doping nello sport rimane il fenomeno di maggior rilievo, rappresenta in fatti quasi il 96% dei casi di frode. Le combine sportive rappresentano invece il 3%, solo la metà (l’1,63%) sono legate alle scommesse; mentre l’abuso di informazioni riservate è all’1,5% circa. In altri termini, i casi di doping accertati sono 35 volte quelli di combine, addirittura 60 volte quelli di combine legate a scommesse. Lo dice una ricerca condotta dal CIBS (International Centre for the Business of Sport) della Coventry University e commissionata da Remote Gambling Association (RGA), European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) e European Sports Security Association (ESSA).
La ricerca si basa su un unico database in cui sono stati raccolti 2.089 casi di frode sportiva accertati tra il 2000 e il 2010. I casi di doping accertati sono 1998. Quelli di combine invece sono appena 57 (di cui 33 legati alle scommesse, 22 quelli determinati da altri fini), la maggior parte dei quali verificatisi in Europa (30 casi) e in Asia (19). Per quanto riguarda l’Europa, 21 casi riguardavano il calcio (13 quelli legati alle scommesse); seguono le corse ippiche (4 casi tutti legati alle scommesse). Si è registrato un caso ciascuno per basket, corse motoristiche, rugby e tennis, ma solo per quest’ultimo sport la combine era legata alle scommesse. I paesi europei maggiormente esposti si sono rivelati la Gran Bretagna (4 casi di combine legate alle scommesse e 1 non collegato al gioco) e l’Italia (3 casi di combine legata a scommesse e 2 non collegati al gioco); segue la Germania (rispettivamente 2 e 2 casi).
